Welcome
We are a research based physiotherapy practice specialising in Pilates and exercises that best suit your area of pain or weakness. Your treatment will be tailored to your needs. We offer you:
- Pilates - a popular and effective way to increase and improve core strength. We offer Pilates one on one or in small groups
- Physiotherapy - one on one hands on to correctly assess and treat painful movement when exercise alone is not enough. You will then be able to return to exercise safely
- Real time ultrasound (RTU) - to show you "live" the core muscles you need to work. Pain inhibits muscle activity that support the spine. You need to learn how to switch them back on. RTU will show you how. All class participants will have access to this facility
- Women's health Physiotherapy - If you are pregnant or have lower back pain your pelvic floor is often affected. Recent research found that weak pelvic floor was the biggest contributor to lower back pain. Through the use of RTU and specific exercises you will improve the strength of your pelvic floor and prevent urinary incontinence.
- Massage - a special treat to get rid of toxins and muscle tightness and help you feel refreshed and reinvigorated
It has been proven through research that correct exercises help prevent and reduce the incidence of pain and slows the aging process. Although the Pilates classes are based on Pilates, other exercise types are also incorporated i.e. Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique and Yoga. We feel they all have something to offer.
We will provide you with quality health care and service based on the latest evidence and research. This care extends to our patients, referrers and the community.
Our vision is to assist you in achieving the greatest possible level of physical independence and comfort, relative to age and lifestyle, through pain relief, mobility improvement and exercise programs.
Pilates, physiotherapy, real time ultrasound - resulting in increased self awareness leading to strength, flexibility and relaxation.
